LIbrary Classes
This is a guest post from our teacher librarian, Beth Redford.
Author-Illustrator Mini Grey
Kindergartners are learning more about authors and illustrators in their library classes. This week we began sharing books written and illustrated by Mini Grey. Our first book was Ginger Bear, which reminded the scholars of their own gingerbread hunt!
After we share books by Mini Grey, we will start reading books by Margie Palantini. Mrs Palatini is an author but not an illustrator, so we will have a chance to learn about the many different artists who have illustrated her books.

Recess and the First Snow
On Friday, November 14, 2014
The Kindergartners were excited to play together in the snow. They had so much fun! What a great kick off for our next unit: The Five Senses.
Ms. Agner, Mrs. Gilbar, and Mrs. Mumford observed children planning, collaborating, talking, creating, designing, compromising, and building snow-people. We are delighted the kindergarten scholars can experience the natural wonders around them.

Movie and Popcorn Day
Our three kindergarten classes met together for Movie and Popcorn Day. Students received tickets from the teachers which they exchanged for a bag of fresh popped popcorn. They entered the movie theater and enjoyed two featured movies - Curious George at Music Concert and Curious George Gets Ready for Winter.

Snowboarding at ECHO
Kindergarten classes went to ECHO Lake Aquarium and Science Center in Burlington on Wednesday, November 5. Smuggler's Notch and Burton Snowboards sponsored this snowboarding event. Mr. Godfrey, our amazing Physical Education teacher, arranged this wonderful opportunity for our scholars. In addition, Mr. Godfrey will continue to teach our kindergarten students snowboarding during physical education classes. Students will use the same type of equipment that we used at ECHO to practice snowboarding in the gym. In the winter we will snowboard outside. Thank you to all our parent volunteers. We appreciate your help. Thank you Mr. Godfrey for a great learning experience.
